Every five years,
the Irish Setter Club of America publishes their Pictorial.
Typically containing hundreds pages of photographs,
pedigrees, kennel advertising, and reference material, these
books have become invaluable references for the Irish Setter
enthusiast. First published in1970, the Pictorial is a
limited edition available by pre-order only; previous
editions have become true collector’s items.
The current edition contains photos
of National Specialty Best of Breed winners from 2002
through 2005, as well as listing the major award winners
since the first National in 1973. Results of National Field
Trials are also included, and recognition is given
those remarkable Irish Setters and their owners who have
attained Obedience and Agility Championships. The Register
of Merit, which recognizes top producing sires and dams, is
also included.
The 2001
edition (pictured) contains over 800 pedigree pages. Each
page contains a photo of the dog, its pedigree, a brief
statement about the dog, and names of owners and breeders.
